Sleep tips for your Little Dreamers...

Daily Feeding Schedule

Did you know that between 3-5 months, your baby should be drinking a minimum of 28 ounces (4 x 7 ounce bottles) in a 12 hour period for better nighttime sleep?

I know how hard it can be having a baby who cluster feeds rather than taking full bottles (I've been there!). Working on a proper feeding schedule will optimize your chance for better nighttime sleep.

Proper Wake Windows

Better daytime sleep = better nighttime sleep!

An overtired baby will not go down easily! It's important to ensure that your Little Dreamer is following the proper wake windows for their age to give them the best nighttime sleep!

Example: Allie is currently 7 months old. Her daytime wake windows are between 2-3 hours long. Once she gives me tired cues (i.e. rubbing her eyes or being overly fussy), I put her down for her nap.

*Her last nap of the day is 2.5 - 3 hours before bedtime.

Nightly Routine

I don't know about your Little Dreamers, but mine have always thrived on routine! We have had the same bedtime routine every single night since home from the hospital.

Our bedtime routine is as follows: Bath (not suitable every night for eczema prone babies / also not a wash every night, sometimes it's a soak), moisturizer, a bamboo sleeper, a bedtime story, the last bottle of the day and the right sound machine. We also ensure to put our baby down in her crib awake so that she doesn't wake up wondering where she is in the middle of the night!
